About

Fencing is one of the most sophisticated and tactical sports on offer.

The University Fencing Club offers something for everyone - including existing fencers that are looking to improve their skills, as well as novices who want to try a new sport, all new members are welcome to join.

The club has a men’s side competing in BUCS and also supports women wanting to compete.

Competition

The Fencing Club participate in British College and Universities Sport (BUCS) competition:

Men’s 1st: South Eastern 1A and Trophy

Please note: There will be no BUCS Competition until Semester B due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2020-21 season will be a "bridging season" and results will have no impact on promotion or relegation.

BUCS are yet to annouce the format of League and Knockout competition for 2020-21.

How to Join

There are three weeks of free trials and taster sessions following Freshers' Week (Monday 28th September - Sunday 18th October).

Anyone invited to join the Club must have signed up and paid for their membership following this three-week period.

Please pre-register at the HertSquad Sports Fair (Wednesday 23rd September) or by contacting the Club on their social media channels.

Coaching

The Fencing Club is coached by a highly experienced and qualified coach.
