Applications for the Hertfordshire Talented Athlete Programme (HTAP) are now open for the 2023-24 year. The programme is now in its 18th year of running and has supported a number of talented athletes on their journey to becoming elite or professional athletes
HTAP alumni include 2 time double gold medallist Olympian Laura Kenny, GB sprinter Jodie Williams, Paralympic medallist Grace Harvey, and professional golfer Tom Lewis amongst many other successful athletes
Athletes selected for the programme will have access to Hertfordshire Sports Village health and fitness facilities, receive specialist Strength and Conditioning training from Performance Herts, have access to 2 physiotherapy sessions at BodyBalance Physiotherapy Clinic and be provided with a number of athlete education workshops throughout the year on topics such as performance nutrition, recovery, sport psychology, anti-doping, etc. All of these services will be delivered out of Hertfordshire Sports Village
- Gym and pool membership
- 2 x weekly group Strength and Conditioning sessions
- 5 x Strength and Conditioning one to one coaching sessions
- Functional movement screening and performance testing
- 2 x physiotherapy appointments
- Frequent athlete education workshops in areas including nutrition, sports psychology and more
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for HTAP selection, athletes will need to be between 14-21 years of age and recognised in their sport specific talent pathway competing at regional representation level or above Where talent pathways do not exist or follow a different format, athletes will need to demonstrate an equivalent level In their application All applications will be considered and athletes may be invited for interview if their application has been successful
