I am delighted to inform you that due to the excellent progress made in recent weeks with the remedial works to the pool, we will be able to recommence swimming lessons on Monday 1 October – two weeks earlier than scheduled.
Progress of Pool Liner Replacement Remedial Works
The pool liner replacement works have progressed well in recent weeks and many of the final tasks have taken less time to complete than anticipated. We are in the final stages and the last tasks next week are to tile the last few areas, clean and re-paint the black lines on the pool floor and undertake a comprehensive deep clean to ensure the pool is back to the very high standards you rightly expect ready for the pool to re-open.
Swimming Lesson Start Date
Because of this excellent progress we will be able to re-open for group swimming lessons on Monday 1 October (2 weeks earlier than originally scheduled), with all lessons taking place at the times already agreed with you at the time of booking.
Our 1:1 swimming lesson programme will re-start week beginning Monday 15 October. This is so we can focus our attention on making the group lesson programme run as smoothly as possible when these recommence.
Public Swimming Opening Date and 6:30am Opening
The pool will re-open for public swimming from 6:30am on Tuesday 2 October (please note the new earlier opening time). We have managed to amend our staffing rotas so that the pool can now open 15 minutes earlier at 6:30am weekdays, in response to several requests from swimmers for this to happen.
Please note that we cannot open the pool for public swimming before Tuesday 2 October as our lifeguard staff need to undertake essential training in the pool before we are able to do so. This training will take place on the evening of Monday 1 October in readiness to safely staff the pool from 6:30am onwards on Tuesday 2 October.
