Football is a popular sport at UH and there are so many ways you can get involved!
As one of the University's Performance Sports, Women's Football provides an excellent pathway for players from community grassroots players to international athletes.
The Women's 1st XI Team provides an opportunity to represent the University in BUCS at the highest level alongside playing domestic club football.

The Women's Football Club compete in the National University League and Cup Programme managed by BUCS.
1st XI: Premier South and Championship
There are three weeks of free trials and taster sessions at the start of Semester B (Monday 10th January - Sunday 30th January).
Anyone invited to join the Club must have signed up and paid for their membership following this three-week period.

The Women's Football Programme is managed and coached by a number of FA qualified coaches with extensive experience within the national women's game.
If you are an avid football player or just want a regular game each week, then get yourself involved in the HertSquad campus based football programme.
Renowned for providing a great social setting to play football with your friends, course mates or house mates against other students in our weekly book and play sessions and semesterly leagues.
The student programme includes 6-a-side football leagues.
If you are a student looking for a team to join or you are student captain looking for extra players to join your squad in a Campus Football league, then come along to one of our FREE 'Find Your Team' sessions. Further information on these sessions can be found below.

What to expect:
The aim is to be competetive, so you'll play competitive matches against each other with qualified officials. Coming alone? Please don't worry, we have friendly trained student Activators who will meet you there and find you a team to join. All equipment is provided, so you just need to bring yourself and a bottle of water.

How to be involved:
From Monday 14 February you'll have to purchase a membership or book and pay for sessions in advance. All sessions can be booked 7 days in advance, which gives you plenty of time. To do this, just sign up for the FREE HertSquad membership and book in person at Hertfordshire Sports Village or over the phone weekdays between 11:00-13:00 via 01707 284466.
Semester membership
Gives you unlimited access to every competitive Book and Play session this semester and priority booking for only £30. You’ll save £100s! Plus you’ll also get a free HertSquad Campus Sport hoodie. Players have the option to purchase a HertSquad Campus Sport hoody for £20.00 from the HertSquad Office at Hertfordshire Sports Village on the de Havilland Campus once they have joined a team.
* £30 refundable deposit - returned at the end of the semester if all matches completed in accordance to league rules and all squad bibs are returned to the HertSquad Office. This will be be collected from all teams at the first set of matches week commencing Monday 14 February.
All teams must have two team representatives at the Campus Football captain's meeting at 18:30 on Wednesday 9 February which will be held via Zoom.
The HertSquad Campus Football leagues will commence the week beginning Monday 14 February.

Students can enter a team into one of the Campus Football leagues above by following the instructions below:
1. Download the Playwaze app on your mobile phone app store (orange square with white pw).
2. Log into the Playwaze app (BUCS Play log in can be used) or register a new account.
3. Search Playwaze for the University of Hertfordshire Community (purple H logo). Keep 'I'm looking for' drop down as 'Organisations/Providers'.
4. Join the University of Hertfordshire Community.
5. Click on 'Other Communities' and click the Campus Football button.
6. Click on the league you wish to enter.
7. Click 'enter team' at the bottom, follow the instructions and make your team payment to secure your place in the league.
We recommend the team captain enters the team into the league. All team members will have to follow steps 1-5 above and then join their set team so that all team members are visible
Students are responsible for organising their own teams. Although assistance is offered through our FREE 'Find Your Team' sessions at the start of term to help teams recruit players or for individuals looking for a team to join. Just come along to one of the sessions below with your student I.D. card:
