Active Students Colour Run

Monday 14 March, 2022

This Wednesday 16 March at 13:30, HertSquad Active Students are hosting Colour Run.
The free event is a chance for all Herts students to come together to walk, jog or dance around Ellenbrook Fields (around the back of Hertfordshire Sports Village) on de Havilland campus to celebrate the festival of colours at Colour Run. The aim is to be the most colourful at the finish line.

The HertSquad Active Students team will be located at certain points around the 3.5k route, equipped with colourful gulal powder. As you pass they will be throwing the powder into the air so you will look like a running canvas of colour. You can complete the route at any pace you are comfortable, this is not a challenge or race to the finish line.

This free event is a celebration of the popular Holi Hindu Festival on Friday 18 March which has been celebrated on the Indian subcontinent for centuries. It marks and celebrates the arrival of Spring, and is symbolic of the triumph of good over evil. Holi has also become a festival that is celebrated outside of India and is very popular in the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. It is a great opportunity to get together with family, friends and loved ones. For some, the festival also celebrates the beginning of a good harvest season of spring. It lasts for a night and a day.

Interested in coming along on Wednesday?
Just turn up with your student ID card and a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Remember to wear athletic clothing that you don’t mind getting covered in powder, although this will wash out. We will hand out 100 free white t-shirts on a first come first served basis!

We look forward to seeing you at Colour Run!
