The 6’7” guard from Colorado will study International Business at the University of Hertfordshire (UH), represent UH Men’s Basketball in BUCS competition and join Hemel Storm’s senior programme.
Jared’s recruitment, supported by athlete recruitment agency TeamGLEAS, highlights the growing relationship between UH and Hemel Storm and the opportunities available to student-athletes looking to combine academic study with high-level basketball.
An experienced international player
Jared graduated from NCAA Division II programme Colorado Mesa University in 2022, having established himself as a versatile two-way player with the ability to contribute through his shooting, size and defensive ability.
During the 2019/20 season, he averaged 11.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 51.3% from three-point range. He earned All-RMAC Honourable Mention and RMAC All-Tournament recognition as Colorado Mesa won the RMAC Tournament and secured a place in the NCAA Tournament.
He was named to the RMAC All-Tournament Team again in 2020/21 as Colorado Mesa won the regular-season championship, retained its tournament title and returned to the NCAA Tournament.
Before joining Colorado Mesa, Jared attended Fresno City College, where he was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Following his collegiate career, Jared spent four seasons playing professionally in Europe, including spells in Lithuania and Azerbaijan.
During the 2024/25 season with PlungÄ— Olimpas in Lithuania, he averaged 14.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game. He then represented Telšiai during the 2025/26 Lithuanian NKL season before agreeing to join Hemel Storm.
Jared was announced as Hemel Storm’s second American signing for the 2026/27 season.
“I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the Hemel Storm family.”
Combining university and senior basketball
Through the relationship between the University of Hertfordshire and Hemel Storm, selected student-athletes can access two competitive environments while continuing their academic studies.
Jared will represent UH Men’s Basketball in BUCS competition while also continuing his senior basketball career with Hemel Storm in the British Basketball Championship (BCB).
The pathway provides student-athletes with access to:
- High-level BUCS competition
- Senior club basketball with Hemel Storm
- Experienced coaching across both environments
- Strength and conditioning support
- Physiotherapy and sports injury support
- Access to Performance Herts
- Individual and team development opportunities
- Support with balancing academic and sporting commitments
For Jared, the opportunity allows him to continue competing at a high level following four seasons of professional basketball in Europe, while studying International Business at UH.
The role of TeamGLEAS
TeamGLEAS played a key role in bringing the opportunity together, identifying Jared as a potential fit for the academic and basketball pathway available through UH and Hemel Storm.
The agency supported the initial connection between Jared and Thomas Baker, UH’s Performance Sport and Scholarships Manager and Men’s Basketball Head Coach.
The initial conversation provided an opportunity for Jared and UH to discuss his basketball background, academic ambitions and what he was looking for from the next stage of his career.
Following that conversation, TeamGLEAS supported Jared through the University application process and continued to assist both Jared and UH as the recruitment progressed.
The process brought together Jared, TeamGLEAS, the University of Hertfordshire, UH Men’s Basketball, Hemel Storm and the University’s Performance Sport and scholarship teams to create one connected academic and sporting opportunity.
Thomas Baker, Performance Sport and Scholarships Manager and Men’s Basketball Head Coach, said:
“Jared’s recruitment shows what is possible when the athlete, agency, university and club work together with a shared understanding of what the individual needs.
“TeamGLEAS identified Jared as someone who could fit our academic and basketball environments, supported our initial conversation and then worked with both parties throughout the application process.
“Jared arrives with NCAA Division II experience and four seasons of professional basketball in Europe. He will add size, shooting, experience and defensive versatility to both UH and Hemel Storm.
“Our relationship with Hemel Storm allows selected student-athletes to combine high-level BUCS basketball with senior club competition. Jared’s journey is a strong example of the type of connected opportunity we want to continue developing.”
Ross Norfolk, Partner & Recruitment Consultant at TeamGLEAS, said:
“The University of Hertfordshire has a strong reputation academically, and with its growing performance sport programme it makes a fantastic option for our student-athletes.
“The University has elite partnerships in place with external clubs and programmes that give our athletes the opportunity to develop further.
“The staff within the sports and international departments care about our athletes’ careers and help accommodate our student-athletes’ needs.”
Building towards 2027
UH, Hemel Storm and TeamGLEAS will continue to build on recruitment opportunities such as Jared’s as they look ahead to September 2027.
The partnership is particularly interested in hearing from ambitious student-athletes who:
- Have competed within a strong US collegiate programme
- Want to continue playing after graduation
- Are considering undergraduate or postgraduate study in the UK
- Value coaching, strength and conditioning and performance support
- Have the experience and ability to contribute within high-level university basketball
- Are prepared to commit to their studies and the wider basketball programme
Scholarships at the University of Hertfordshire are assessed individually and agreed annually. Depending on the athlete and programme requirements, support may include tuition-fee assistance, accommodation, financial support or access to performance services.
There is no standard scholarship package, playing position or place with Hemel Storm guaranteed. Academic eligibility, playing film, character, roster requirements and available resources are considered throughout the recruitment process.
