What is Active Students?

Active Students is so much more than traditional sport. It’s a great way for you to meet new people and experience something for the first time, whilst having fun and staying healthy. All activities are free and you can turn up when you want – no sign up, no commitment, no cost.

So if you want a break from studying, want to see what’s going on around campus or want to meet some new people, then join us at a session.

The scheme is available to all University of Hertfordshire and is totally free!

Just find a session that you would like to take part in and turn up with your Student ID card. Simple.

Staff and Student Walking Squash

Walking Squash is a slower version of the traditional game, just at a walking pace. If you’ve had a break from playing this version of the game has been designed to welcome you back!

Come down and try this fast paced game which is becoming increasingly popular... it's fun and free! Futsal is a modified version of football- typically 5 a side, on a small pitch with a heavier, less bouncy ball. What's not to love? No need to pre-register a team, just turn up and play.

Female Only Touch Rugby

Touch Rugby is a non-contact sport which is played by people of all levels and abilities. There is a fun and relaxed vibe at these sessions with music playing. This session is perfect for first time beginners who have never picked up a rugby ball before right through to the biggest rugby enthusiast around. This session is sure to be a fun one, just remember your ID card.
