On Thursday 3 March we celebrate University Mental Health Awareness Day.
The resilience of students across the University of Herts throughout the pandemic and how the Active Students programme continues to support students across the University is inspiring.
Our Active Students programme aims to support our Herts student population of 25,000 by engaging students from all backgrounds and life experiences to become more physically and mentally active, whatever their abilities.
We want you to know that you are not alone if you are struggling with life as a University student, especially during these tough times after a period of change in the world. Along with peers, tutors and Student Wellbeing, the University of Herts are there to support you in different ways and you can reach out to anyone.

Active Students Wellbeing Programme
Alongside our Active Students broad range of sessions, activities and events on offer throughout each semester, we would also like to make you aware of our Active Students Wellbeing Programme we have launched in partnership with UH Wellbeing. The programme brings you one-to-one student-led support, giving you the confidence to become involved in life at Herts. If you feel like you need some extra support, you can refer yourself by completing our self-referral form. You will then be paired with one of our student Wellbeing Activators. Each activator is specifically chosen to have something in common with the referred student which will make breaking the ice that much easier. You will meet, talk, go to sessions to have fun together and truly understand that someone cares, in turn increasing your confidence and wellbeing.
Sessions are tailored to you, at times that suit you. They are always confidential, and our team of Wellbeing Activators have all undergone specific training to ensure both your safety and theirs. You would meet up with an Activator twice a week, for four weeks, where you can work together to determine what you would like to get out of the programme. We are with you every step of the way.
